Volkswagen Emission Scandal

The Volkswagen diesel car emission scandal is proving to be very costly for Volkswagen.  Up to 11 million car are estimated to be effective world-wide.  482,000 of those automobiles are in the United States.

The disclosure of this diesel car defect has not under affected the reputation and goodwill of Volkswagen but also their dealers.  In an attempt to win back some of bad reputation, VW has announced they will be giving $500 in gift cards to all registered owners and lessee of a Volkswagen diesel car.  They will also be giving a $500 service and product credit redeemable at any VW dealer.  They also will be giving away free three years 24-hour roadside assistance to all those who register for this offer by April.

So what does this mean if you own a Volkswagen diesel car?  It means that you need to read the agreement very carefully if you register because you don’t want to lose your rights to sue VW.  Its no secret that VW is doing this to avoid some pending litigation.

Attorneys are lining up at the courthouse to file lawsuits against VW.  Many like California car defect attorney, Peter Bezek, of Foley Bezek Behle & Curtis, LP, who has two lawsuits already filed, are seeking to make VW buy the defective cars back at the prices paid for them.
